The findings of the latest New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services’ 2006 cardiac surgery report, which takes a look at the risk adjusted mortality rate for coronary artery bypass graft surgery, shows that Englewood Hospital and Medical Center has once achieved a zero percent mortality rate. Englewood Hospital has been recognized for a zero percent mortality rate in the last three consecutive cardiac surgery reports issued by the state.
The “Cardiac Surgery in New Jersey 2006” report profiles 18 New Jersey hospitals and includes information detailing mortality rates, average length of stay, and infection rates for patients who underwent bypass surgery. The report shows that cardiac surgery death rates continue to steadily decline and presently stand at an average of two percent.
“We are very proud of our team for consistently achieving high marks in the state cardiac report card,” says Dr. James Klein, chief of cardiothoracic surgery.
